Cartooning and Music
Here's me playing some "midnight calming piano before bedtime" music. The first song is my cover of "I Will Be There With You", by David Foster, who wrote it as the theme for Japan Airlines. Second song is a cover of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast", followed by some miscellaneous improvisations.
Basketball
"Anyone can beat me in basketball. So, when I was in high school and a coach encouraged me to try out for the basketball team, I felt quite surprised and happy. To be frank, I was intimidated by the other players. But I did shoot pretty well and had a 40-inch vertical leap. In the 10th grade, I could jump up and touch the rim of the basketball hoop (I was and still am about 5 ft. 4 inches tall). Though I loved basketball, I ended up in varsity badminton and track & field — sports that I could 'better manage' and include as extracurricular activities in my college application. That was in the early 90s. Today in the year 2026, I am 51 years old and am catching up with my favorite sport. I also need more exercise. So, I've been documenting my 'midlife basketball journey'. Sorry I can't show you my 40-inch vertical. Today, with weak knees, I could barely get up over 12 inches. But I have new goals. Ball-handling, shooting threes, etc. — working on 'em. Let me get back to you on those. Meanwhile, below are some of my recent workout sessions."
